I will be at the orphanage from August 1st to 26th. The weather will be best in July and August over there. Our morning can be as low as 18 degrees celcius but the afternoon will always be around 28 degrees celcius , except that there wont be any sweat as the humidity will be low . Simply it will be a pleasant atmospheric condition . The reason for that is the influence of Australian winter months.
a part from the nice weather the soil will be dry and nothing can grow unless if you have enough water for watering the plants . Other wise there might be tapioca or other limited plants which can stand the dryness and still be around.During this period the orphanage will be quite busy with giving away food and vitamins for the village children around the orphanage . It is the time also for us to treat some wounds as the children are not having enough water for the sanitation purposes. We are hoping that there won’t ber any more famine at our place in Timor like two years last year ( where there wasn’t enough rain for 2 years). This year we were enjoying and extra harvest of green bean as the rain was extended till late March and even few big rain in early April. This morning many of the children told us that their mounth are pain and as we found out later we can not do anything as it was because of their teeth are coming out some more.
This nature thing must also be informed to them as they need to know about facts of life that all of us must be dealing with. A good and clean environment must be taught as to make a healthier living condition. We need to provide them good readings so we can make sure that they can understand more in the out side world. I have just brought home some good children’s books which was a gift from The Trickeyfamily from Seattle, thank you . I will be bringing them to the orphanage when I am visiting the orphanage next. Some beautiful books also given from some brothers and sisters in Singapore for the same purpose.Thank you. From August 5th till 10th we will be having a brother and 7 sisters from Singapore Airlines visiting our orphanage. A couple of Dutch friend and “my Australian mum Rae” might be with us also during that period.I am hoping that we can do good for the children while we are there .
